Frequently Asked Questions
FAQ
What if my company isn't supported?
Upload your rota using the 'Not supported' drop down. It'll take a couple of days to support your rota, but it doesn't cost anything.
In fact, if yours is the first rota for your company, you get everything for free. Including any future stuff we do. For as long as we're trading.
How do I claim from HMRC?
This is
THE most asked question.
Is your claim (not the rebate) less than £2500? - Just use form P87, submit it online with your spreadsheet.
If you didn't file a self-assessment - file it online and include your spreadsheet - the £100 fine is worth it.
If you DID file a self-assessment, you have a year to amend it online, include your spreadsheet.
If you can't amend it because it's past the date, write an Overpayment Relief Claim letter and send it with your spreadsheet.
If in doubt look at my '
How to Claim' page (opens in new tab).
Can you do my self-assessment for me?
No.
For me to do that I need to be registered to help you, and I would be personally liable if you tell porky pies on your claim.
That's why people that do it charge far more than me, because of the risk.
How much do you charge for working out mileage for thousands of journeys?
7.5% of your rebate due.
7.5% seems a lot, can I have a discount?
Nope.
You're getting an HMRC compliant spreadsheet with thousands of trips and all the mileage worked out for you from your rota,
and you can see what rebate you'll get and what I'll charge
before you decide if it's worth paying.
£112.50 for everything you need to get a £1500 rebate is a bit of a no-brainer. So is £7.50 to get £100 back.
Imagine how long that'll take you in hours and times it by minimum wage - it's a steal.
If you don't think so - do it yourself. Stop asking this question, you're embarrassing yourself.
My wife says I should change this answer because it's a bit strong, saying it's bad business. Apparently it's not :)
What if I changed my home address?
If you're not claiming your first and last journeys to and from home it doesn't matter.
If you are claiming them, just should add all postcodes and move dates for the period you're claiming for.
That way HMRC won't come knocking to say you've had too much rebate.
I uploaded the wrong rota. Can I get a refund?
If you viewed the data and the spreadsheet was available to you, I'm afraid not.
You can upload as many rotas as you want, for free, to see if it's worth it before you buy the calculations and
the spreadsheet, but once you've bought any given time frame, the spreadsheet is yours to use straight away.
That means that even distance selling regulations can't help because you will have 'consumed' the product. Sorry.
Can I ever get a refund?
Yes.
If I mess up. If the software messes up. Good luck with that.
Not if you mess up though, that's on you. Now stop asking.
